My report of last week's PhD Student Seminar at @TheCIPA #CIPAPhD https://t.co/Jh9iLW8eP4 Thanks to all who made it possible.

This week's @BBCDragonsDen highlights importance of protecting your IP in all territories of interest: https://t.co/3TBsyJ7Qw8 #trademarks

@TheLittleChef you are welcome. ;-)

@TheLittleChef Stannary?

@BoffJim Sure - do you have my email address?

@BoffJim Now going through the SI in detail. I think we agree, but wanted to check: when you said "three infringement laws", you meant what?

@BoffJim @TheCIPA That could well be true. But transitional period will last the rest of my career and then some (with opted out patents)

@BoffJim Err, here I have to say I am too young to remember that. Does not mean not true in case of UPC, though.

@BoffJim @TheCIPA Not that the EPO wants to allow that at the moment, anyway. Still...

@BoffJim @TheCIPA Hmm funny you mention that. Sir Robin believes that despite Art 149a(2)(a) BoA members should not be allowed as UPC judges

@BoffJim I think Sir Robin was of view that the EPC did work. But UPC agreement too complicated and not clearly better than current system.

@TheCIPA @BoffJim I was pointing out (diverting from original topic) that UK draft SI contravenes Art 2 EPC - hence "illegal"

Finally at #CIPAPhD Sir Robin Jacob in inimitable style. Not sure whether #UnitaryPatent will be better than current system: too complicated

Three excellent presentations at #CIPAPhD. Third by Karen Walsh is on #UnitaryPatent - close to my heart. I think UK SI contravenes EPC.

As you will see from my retweets, I am currently attending #CIPAPhD @TheCIPA - a conference for PhD students. Both IP and technical topics
