As an IP Solicitor Carissa focuses on contentious matters. She has experience of proceedings in the High Court (both Queen’s Bench and Chancery divisions), Privy Council and the Court of Appeal, as well as and in cross-border disputes. She currently focuses on multi-jurisdictional patent litigation. Carissa has also advised clients on copyright, trademarks and IP ownership issues. Further, in her role as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney, Carissa also manages a number of active trademark portfolios.
Before joining EIP Carissa worked in the commercial litigation department at a leading London law firm specialising in media and entertainment. Prior to entering the Law she worked as a toxicologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London.
Carissa has a degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Loughborough and was awarded the AstraZeneca first place prize for her final year research project and a Law Conversion Degree from The College of Law. In addition, she also has a Certificate in Trademark Law and Practice from Queen Mary College, University of London and qualified as a Trade Mark Attorney through Nottingham Law School. She speaks Spanish fluently.
