Andrew Samm

As head of EIP Search, Andrew focuses on prior art searching, patent landscaping and market research.

Andrew and his team have developed in-house database tools to generate detailed patent and technology wide landscape reports that can be used for business intelligence, portfolio analysis and patent valuation studies.

Andrew supervises novelty, validity and clearance searches across all technical fields. He also performs searches relating to analogue, digital and power electronics, semiconductor devices, telecommunications, computer networks, electrical and electro-mechanical systems, DSP and physics-related subjects.

He joined EIP after working in the research division of an international IP management company, where in addition to performing prior art searches he analysed patent portfolios, conducted market research and identified licensing opportunities.

Andrew holds a master’s degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering from the University of Sussex.
