Michelle’s practice covers a broad range of subject matter including mechanics, electronics, telecommunications and computer-implemented inventions. She has particular experience in working with medical devices, data centre infrastructure technologies, the aerospace industry, and the oil and gas industry. As well as drafting and prosecuting patents in these areas Michelle has experience in providing patentability, freedom to operate and validity opinions, and enjoys advising on general IP strategy.

Michelle has seven years of experience in private practice and joined EIP from the Bristol office of a firm of patent attorneys. She has worked with a range of clients from single inventors to large corporates in the healthcare and telecoms sectors. Prior to entering the IP profession Michelle worked in scientific publishing, including as a journalist and editor for the Institute of Physics’ Physics World magazine. She holds a Master’s degree in Science, Culture and Communication from the University of Bath and a BSc Honours degree in Physics and Philosophy from the University of Bristol.
