Sharon is a Registered UK and European Trademark Attorney. Her work ranges from trademark clearance and prosecution through to contentious trademark proceedings, oppositions, invalidity and revocation actions. She was credited in the Legal 500 for her "thoughtful advice" and was also recognised in the first edition of “Who’s Who Legal: Trademarks” as among 76 of the world’s leading Trademark Attorneys based on client and peer review.
Sharon has experience of managing international portfolios for clients in a range of industries, including media and fashion, food and beverages, consumer products and software. Her practice ranges from global rebranding projects to contentious matters, and she has successfully handled conflicts before the UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO) and the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM). Sharon joined EIP from a specialist firm of trademark attorneys based in London.
Sharon is a regular media commentator and has been interviewed by the BBC, the Daily Mail, the Huffington Post, the Daily Telegraph, the Guardian, Global Trader, World Trademark Review and Intellectual Property Magazine. Sharon has also written articles for the UK Intellectual Property Office's "IP Insight" publication, the Global Legal Post, Trademarks and Brands Online, ITMA Review and Lawyer Monthly.
Sharon has served on the Institute of Trade Mark Attorney's Education & Training Committee for more than six years and has taken appointments at ITMA's "Free Advice Clinics" for members of the public, held at the London office of the UK IPO. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Birmingham, achieved a Commendation in the Graduate Diploma of Law and a Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She passed each of the Qualifying Examinations for entry onto the Register of Trade Mark Attorneys at the first attempt.
