Nick is a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney based in EIP's San Diego, California office. He joined EIP from an Am Law 100 firm where he focused primarily on patent litigation and trade secret matters for high-tech companies.
Nick has experience drafting and prosecuting patents related to consumer electronic devices, computer systems, distributed power generation, display technology, telecommunications standards and mechanical devices. Nick also has experience in patent litigation matters regarding mechanical devices, consumer electronic devices, video game systems, Assisted-GPS, and integrated circuit design.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Nick worked as a senior systems engineer on classified projects for Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

- Gabriel Techs. Corp. v. Qualcomm Inc. (S.D. Cal.) – successfully represented Qualcomm in patent and trade secret case to full summary judgment and awarded over $12 million in attorneys’ fees; affirmed by Federal Circuit.
- HSM Portfolio LLC et al. v Qualcomm Incorporated et al. (D. Del.) – represented defendant in patent litigation concerning integrated circuit design.
- Shinsedai Company Limited v. Nintendo of America et al. (S.D. Cal.) – represented defendant in patent litigation concerning video game systems.
- Emissive Energy Corporation v. NovaTac, Inc (D.R.I.) – represented defendant in patent litigation concerning electrical devices resulting in positive settlement.
- SKF Condition Monitoring, Inc. v. SAT Corporation (S.D. Cal.) – represented plaintiff in patent litigation concerning electrical device.
- I-Flow Corp. v. Apex Medical Tech. (S.D. Cal.) – represent plaintiff in patent litigation and trade secret misappropriation case concerning medical device resulting in multi-million dollar award for client.
Recent work
- Successfully defended a client against four Inter Partes Review (IPR) petitions.
